Present tense .2 Script and prose: from screenwriting to novels

May 22, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

with Graeme Simsion, Anna Snoekstra and Fiona Wood

A screenplay is a blueprint for a film; a novel is a completed work. But what can the craft of screenwriting bring to the novel? Why do screenwriters make good novelists? And how does novel writing inform writing scripts?

Literary agent Melanie Ostell speaks with three best-selling authors who have studied RMIT’s Advanced Diploma of Professional Screenwriting.

Graeme Simsion’s The Rosie Project has sold over 3 million copies worldwide with its screenplay in development with Sony Pictures. Anna Snoekstra’s Only Daughter has been sold into 20 countries and is currently in development with Universal pictures. And Fiona Wood’s Cloudwish is her latest award-winning novel for young adults.

Join us for ideas, inspiration and refreshments.
