Present tense .1 Writing memoir: life in the frame

May 15, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

with Kate Holden, Kate Richards and Sarah Vincent

Memoirists turn the lens on themselves, focusing and interrogating their experiences, illuminating aspects of their lives for others. In doing so, they make choices: what to select, what to disregard; how to tell the story; how much of themselves to reveal.

Broadcaster, singer and writer Sian Prior, herself a memorist, will explore these questions and more with Kate Holden (In My Skin), Kate Richards (Madness: A Memoir) and Sarah Vincent (Death by Dim Sim). Their memoirs deal with serious matters – drug addiction, mental illness and obesity – but in ways that give hope and uplift.

All are graduates of RMIT Professional Writing and Editing program.

Join us for ideas, inspiration and refreshments.
