David Carlin is an Associate Professor in the School of Media and Communication, co-founder of the non/fictionLab Research Group and co-director of the WriCE program.
David Carlin is author of two books of nonfiction,The Abyssinian Contortionist (2015) and Our Father Who Wasn’t There (2010), and co-edited the anthologies The Near and the Far (with Francesca Rendle-Short, 2016) and Performing Digital (with Laurene Vaughan, 2015). His plays, documentary and short films and radio essays have won awards and featured at numerous international festivals. He has also directed theatre and circus, and led the Circus Oz Living Archive project, co-curating an exhibition for the Melbourne Festival. International Vice-President of NonfictioNOW, he co-chaired the Melbourne (2012) and Flagstaff (2015) NonfictioNOW conferences.
